Shakhtar

Croatian legionary debuted at Shakhtar July 12, 2003 in a match with Zaporozhye Metallurg. Bernd Schuster (at that time head coach of the Miners') on 76-th minute of the match produced Srnu replacement instead of Brazilian Brandao. This match ended with a major victory for the orange and black "with a score (3:0).

The first match for Shakhtar in European matches played in round 1 of the UEFA Cup on Aug. 24, 2003 against Bucharest Dinamo, while Shakhtar lost (2:0), but Srna was sent off for the 51 st minute. The second match Shakhtar also lost (2:3) [3] and up to two meetings of the club was relegated from the tournament.

In May 2006 the newspaper team included it in the ranking of the best football championship in Ukraine: a Wing Defender Srna took 3 rd place, losing Razvan Ratsu and Oleg Gusev.

In July, 2006 there is information that Darijo could go to the English club Portsmouth for 5 million pounds.
